Holidays Done For Sure

The last of the children left today, driving back to her own home. College starts tomorrow. Guess that's it for another year. We weren't sure what to expect as empty nesters, but were pleasantly surprised at our new found freedom. As the house filled up with familiar noise, we missed our space. Not that we wanted them gone, we wanted our routine. The budget is shot, will take some time to recover, but, our jobs are secure (for now) and we will be able to recover. While they were here we realized how blessed we are to be a family, and that we miss each other when we are apart. At least for a little while, then we'll be back together again.
