Tea Party

Went to our local tea party on Wednesday. I was very impressed with the turnout of 3000 people in the middle of the day. It was a happy gathering of young and old, senior citizens wheeling their oxygen bottles, young families wheeling their children, diverse demographic with a uniting theme of concern for their country and the direction (misdirection) our leadership is pursuing. Many different signs, all direct and respectful. My favorite was "The Constitution - Another document they haven't read". It was a sincere grass roots affair, contrary to the characterization being made regarding Astroturf. That characterization is an outright smear and insult to the good people attending this event and exercising their right to assemble. These people are accustomed to the smears, many veterans, NRA members, and third party supporters were united in knowing that their government considers them a greater threat than sleeper cells within our borders.

The best part - I walked back through the plaza 20-minutes after it was over, on my way back to the office, and dammit, if those right wing extremists didn't clean up after themselves. The trash cans were full, not one piece of litter could be seen anywhere. The City crews had nothing to do but empty the cans. How thoughtless these dangerous people are!
